We are reaching out to address the recent misinformation being spread regarding the status of Opticare Vision Services. We understand that there are concerns because of Standard Optical’s recent closure, but we want to assure you that Opticare is operating as usual, and we are just as committed providing great local vision insurance to our members.
Some of the changes that are in the works to make Opticare better for you are as follows:
- Additional staffing to assist in processing your claims quickly and efficiently.
- New technology to assist with quick and accurate claim processing and payment generating.
- New member portal with much easier access and better features available.
- Expanding our Select Network to over 25 providers with more to be added.
To clarify, Opticare is NOT closing or filing bankruptcy. These rumors are entirely untrue. Any challenges we have with our providers are being dealt with accordingly and in a timely manner.
We deeply value your patience and understanding during this transitional period. Our members are our top priority, and we are here to assist in any way we can.

If exam coverage is not needed, we’ll carve it out, however, a medical plan eye exam will often pay out 300% more than an Opticare plan, so asking the medical carrier to carve it out and have exam coverage with Opticare yields the best savings.
